Hello Everyone,
Happy All Saints Day! However, this year, the day is a bit bittersweet. As you may have heard on the news, the government is implementing another lockdown which is due to begin at Midnight on Thursday. As mentioned on the government’s website, public acts of worship (with the exception of funerals and individual prayer), are to be stopped for the next four weeks. Therefore, under these guidelines Wednesday morning will be the last public Mass until 2nd December when the government plans to end the lockdown.
Since churches reopened in July, I have not heard of one case of transmission or of an outbreak of Covid 19 from any Church in the country. This is a testament to the wonderful work our stewards have done and the strong measures we’ve taken in churches across the country. I want to once again thank our own amazing stewarding team in the parish for doing such amazing work on keeping our churches clean and sanitary.
We will still have mass online, and once measures are clarified, we will work out a schedule for private prayer in Church.
In the meantime, I would suggest you still book your place for Christmas Masses as they are filling up. If everything goes according to plan and we are back to public worship in early December, then you’ll want to be sure you get a place for Christmas. It will be a special celebration for us this year.
God bless you all and let’s pray for one another.
Fr Tony
