A Reminder about Christmas Mass Obligation:
This year Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday.
Some people have asked if attending Mass that morning would fulfil a Catholic’s obligation to attend Mass on Christmas.
However, the Sunday morning masses on 24 December are for the 4th Sunday of Advent and don’t fulfil a Catholic’s obligation to attend Christmas Mass.
The Church’s celebration of Christmas begins at sundown on 24 December.
Therefore, you will fulfil the obligation for Christmas Mass by attending the Mass times listed in the notice above.
