Race Night – A Date for Your Diary!
We have not held any parish fundraising/social nights since 2020, so a few parishioners decided it was time to try organising a Race Night. To ensure a successful evening we have teamed up with The Rotary Club of Keighley, and profits of the evening will be shared equally between both organisations.
The Race Night will be held on the evening of Friday 23 June 2023 in the function room of the Keighley Civic Centre. Your ticket will include a Pie and Pea Supper (or vegetarian equivalent), and the bar of the Civic Centre will be open during the evening. Tickets will shortly be on sale at £6 per ticket.
Doors will open at 7pm, with the first race around 7.30pm. The evening must close by 11pm.
For those of you who have attended previous Parish Race meetings, we can confirm that the Cox family will be in charge of the Racing and Catering, with assistance. The format will be 7 video races in total, with the chance to own horses and win prizes. There will also be the opportunity to bet on the horse or horses of your choice.
We are looking for local businesses to sponsors each of the 7 races. Race sponsorship is £20 per race, and you would get publicity/acknowledgement in the brochures and on the night. Please contact Chris Issott (2issott@gmail.com) if you would like to sponsor a race.
We are also looking for people to buy horses for the first 6 Races. Horse ownership costs £5 – for which the owner will get to sit in the Owner’s Enclosure for their race drinking bubbly and snacks and the winning owner will get a prize.
All attendees can place bets on the night on each race. Approx 50% of the total bets for each race will be paid out as winnings on that race, and the rest will go towards fundraising.
The final Race of the evening will be an “Auction Race”. Horse ownership will be auctioned before the race, and the winning owners will join the Owner’s Enclosure for the race. The winning owner will receive 50% of the auction total, with the rest going towards the fundraising total.

There will be a sheet at the back of both churches for those who would like transport on the night.
